One Heart - A Thousand Voices

Fall is the loneliest time of the year

There's a chill in the air

That tears at your heart.

A red sun sets on the horizon

But so far away

You can't feel its warmth.

Like you're alone for the first time

The summer sun no longer shines

It's golden rays

On your tan, rosy cheeks.

A white, cold sky

Retires to grey

The wind dies with it

And the sun hides away.

The bare  e m p t y  trees

No longer wave

Full of leaves

They have fallen to their grave.

Love is sometimes lost

And leaves a hollow, vacant lot

Inside your heart.

Tears

                          easily now

As you sometimes wonder

How you could ever live without him

If some October

He was gone, like the summer.
